National Cadet Corps (NCC) is the Indian Armed Forces youth wing is started in 1948, which is open for college and school students to join voluntarily. It is a Tri-Services Organisation, encompassing the Army, the Air and the Navy Wing. India’s soldier youth foundation recruits cadets from schools, colleges and universities to provide primary military training. The motto of NCC is “Unity and Discipline". University PG College offers NCC Air wing. Aims of NCC: a. To develop qualities of Development of Character, Comradeship, Discipline, Secular Outlook, Spirit of Adventure, Sportsmanship, Ideals of selfless service among the youth of the country. b. To create a human resource of Organized, Trained and Motivated youth, to provide leadership in all walks of life and always be available for the service of the nation. c. To provide a suitable environment to motivate the youth to take up a career in the Armed Forces. Benefits: Being NCC cadet gets exposure to ‘Micro Light Flying’, ‘Aeromodelling’, ‘Range Fire’ and ‘Adventure Activities’. Incentives: Selected NCC cadets get opportunities to visit foreign countries on Youth exchange programme, to march proudly on ‘Rajpath’ during Republic Day parade held in New Delhi, to join defense service, to avail various scholarships in addition to this professional course also have quota for NCC cadets.
